         c. (U) objective. To ensure medical tasks, functions and
     responsibilities are clearly defined and properly assigned to organic XVIII
     Abn Corps medical units.
     2. (U) CONCIPT-OF OPERATIONS.

         a. (u) Medical support is   a national and service responsibility.

         b. (U) Health service tupport will be provided by Level I (Unit), II
     (division Level) and III (Corps Level) unite. Level IV medical support will
     not be available In-country.

         C. (U) Units without Level I medical capability will receive support on
     an area basis from the nearest medical treatment unit. Units without Level II
     medical capability will receive care fron the surporting division or corps
     level clearing company as appropriate.

         d. (U) Patient evacuation will be provided by a combination of Level   11
     and III air/ground evacuation units as well as USAF Tactical Aeromedical
     Evacuation System (TAES) support for lntra- and inter-theater movement of
     patients as regulated by the Medical Regulating office.

     3.  (U) TASKS.

         a.  (U) Major Subordinate Unit@

             (1) (u) coordinate medical support for organic and attached forces.

             (2) (U) Establish aggressive preventive medicine program to minimize
     disease and non-battle injuries.

             (3) (U) rn-.ure the rapid movement of patient--/ca--ualtie-., within
     comi,dnd AD.

         b.  (U) Ist COSCOM.

             .(i) (u) Provide Level I and 11 medical care an an area basis to
     units in Corps rear area and corps units attached or OPCON to divisions or
     operating in or forward of division sectors.

             (2) (U) Provide Level III medical care within Corps AO.
             (3) (U) Establish Medical Regulating office (HRO) to coordinate the
ector.
             (4) (U) Provide maXIMUM Aeromedical Evacuation capability.
