               (3). (U)  The Black Widow spider is found throughout  the AD. Venom Is
       highly toxic. In  severe cases systemic shock and anaphylaxis may occur.

           b. (U) -Numerous poisonous snakes can be found throughout the AO. Many
       are very aggressive or lethal. All snakes should be treated as venecous and
       all snake bites as life threatening.

           a-                      Natural  sources of fresh water are either scarce
       or non- iste              an three-fourths of SAUDI ARABIA. This shortage
       limits civilian and military activity throughout most of the country.
       Guidance will be given on water point for US Forces. Currently, the water
       source for our forces will be from Host Nation water treatment plants with
       re-,chlorination and well sources with erdulator or ROWPU treatment and
       chlorination.

       unsatisfactory.

               (1) (U) Untreated waste from sewage systems serving modern     sections
       of large urban areas 1, discharled into nearby waterways and cesspools and
       latrines are used in s;aller towns and older urban areas. This is a major
       factor in the high incidence of infectious di:eases.

              (2) (U) Although some areac of large cities have routine garbage
       collection, typically, refuse I- burned. buried, or left to rot. Random
       dumping of refuse is the common-practice in rural areas. Rotting garbage
   %supports vectors such as rats which spread several diseases.
