      STANDING OPERATING PROCEDURES (SOP) CARC PAINTING OPERATIONS

      L.PURPOSE: To set minimum safety requirements for CARC painting
      operations.

      2.SCOPE: This SOP applies to all VII Corps and support personnel.

      3. RESPONSIBILITIES:


          a.   Commander, CARC site:

               (1)  Will enforce all safety requirements.

               (2)  Controls all personnel within CARC painting site.

               (3)  Ensure medical support is on site.

               (4)  Ensure c6mmunicatons are on site for an emergency.
               (5)  Ensure that a emergency fire and medivac plan is in
      effect and briefed to all personnel on site.

               (6) Ensure a contact maintenance team is on site.

               (7) Ensure all Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) is on
      hand and in safe working order.

               (8) Will give AMC Safety Rep (William Shirley, comm
      843-2008) a daily PPE and operational equipment status report. To
      ensure sufficent PPE and equipment are on site/ordered.

               (9) Designate one on-site OIC SAFETY representive, per 12
      'hour shift, to control all phases of CARC operations, individual
      will have no other assigned duties other than SAFETY.

          b.   OIC SAFETY representive:

               (1) Conduct risk assessments of operations as conditions
               change.

               (2) Enforce all safety requirements. See enclosure 1:
               CARC SITE SAFETY CHECK LIST

               (4) Ensure all personnel have a safety briefing prior to
      entering CARC site. See enclosure 2: CARC SITE SAFETY BRIEFING

               (5) Ensure all workers at CARC site understand the safety
      precautions and hazards of their job.
