         05/14/91.

         5. (U) OBSERVATION: The MMEE for the DRB1 was inaccurate.


         6. (U) DISCUSSION: The DRBI unit had turned in their MMEE a few
         days prior to the beginning of Operation DESERT SHIELD. There
         were only two items an the MMEE. Once the operation began the
         MMEE increased drastically. This was a result of several
         +actors.


         7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: The battalion should not totally outfit
         one DRB at the expense of others. We should only ensure they
         have all of their MMEE and these need to be closely scrubbed to
         ensure only critical items are on the MMEE.

         S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: The companies need to take a lot
         closer look at their MMEEs when they originally submit them to
         the S4.
