SUPCOM Morning Stand-Up, 17 APR 91
1. Ma4-',ing of Duffle Sags as Parcels. Perception on part
of LTG Pagonis is that this VII Corps practisl- is contributing
substancially to the parcel shipping backlog. 3d PERS Bn CDR
reported that most VI! Corps soldiers that departed early this AM
were carrying only one duffle; some even had only one carry-on
bag; soldiers with 2 duffles were reported rare at best, LTG
Pagonis stated that he will- call LTG Franks personally to "get
some help". SUPCOM contracting officer looking into the
possibility of shipping dlffles t,y commercial carrie,- as cargo.
2. UN Peacekeeping Force. LTG Pagonis commented that the
"UN wants :o take 60 days" before assumption of duties. Possible
impact on VII Corps operations

I Reported that
Extra Taskings to SUPCOM Electricians.
I!Li was trying to get SUPCOM electricians to do wiring above and
beyond previously coordinated requirements -'n the DRA: e.g.,
w4--i-hg @lents in living areas in addition to fest tents. Unable
to support same due to critical shortage of electricians; still
asking for VI: Corps assistance in this regard.
2. Use of KKMC Temporary Washrack for Tanks. 10 wash
points have been operational since 14 APR but no one has used.
Have discussed same with RAT OIC and agreed that a separate wash
schedule fo- tanks needs to be published. 14ashiack schedule to
ncluded tank-less (non-tan;',. o" unarmored) un4-t=.
3. 4-20 Phone Bank from Kliaf.i. SLPCOM not in agreement
with VII Corps recommendation to install same vicinity APOE due
to concerns regarding secur4-ty and traffic congestion. Plans to
install s%-me v4-cin4@f-,y KKMC Main PX. APOE to have a 24
bar.],.
4. Ovei"-and Movement of Vehicles Near 'empoi-ar%/
Washrack. in a recent -nc4.,Jent @ cranes belonging to an U/-T Vi'
Corps MSC drove over exposed water pipes in the area but
fortunately did not sever same. -Should a break occur in the
future from 3--,ch an event, this would completely close ti,.e ent4re
facility tc, all wash operators. Recommend V-'! Corp= -,nits
@.VO4-d traversing the area altogether.
