           020653 FEB 91/ LTC  ADAMS, DEP AS, IS ABN Corps, called to re-
          -quest status on ISS Nieves' notification. LTC ADAMS requested a
          status report ASAP.


          -020805 FEB 91/ CPT  Guzman informed Chief of Stiff that he was
          working a sensitive  action.

          -020815 FEB 91/ CPT  Guzman requested assistance from CPT Sicin-
          ski, LNO, 197 BDE at D-MAIN. He will notify his chain of command
          to eypedite the notification.

          -020816 FEB 91/ CPT Guzman requested assistance from MAJ Davis,
          GZ Ops. MAJ Davis informed Cpt Guzman that there is no COMMLtni-
          cation between D-MAIN and 197-th Spt Bn convoy.

          -0@@0845 FEB 91/ CPT Bayer, 197th IN Bde, called GI to report that
          ISG Nieves serves as Patient Affairs Liaison for 5th Fleet Combat
          Hospital.

          -.020855 FEB 91/ CPT called LT Beyer, Div Surg. LT Beyer confirmed
          that ISG Nieves works as i "PAL" for 5th Fleet Hospital. She con-
          tacted ISG Burns, PAL NCOIC, to conduct notification, to take him
          to a telephone -For ISG Nieves to call his family and to assist
          him in his emergency leave processing.

          -020900 FEB 91/ Cpt Guzman called CPT Bowers and briefed him on
          the details of the case. CPT Bowers stated that MSG Middleton at
          Victory Station can tile care of the emergency leave processing.
          5th Fleet is about I hour from VS.


          --020901 FEB 91/ CPT Guzman asked CPT Chapman at IS ABN Corps
          to inform LTC ADAMS that ISO Burns was on his way to notify ISS
          Nieves. As soon as notification is completed CORPS will be
          notified. CPT Chapman will call CPT Howell at ARCENT 61.
