          discrepancy between what the TO&E authorized and what was
          actually available in the Army system to support GRREG
          functions.


          7. (U) LESSON LEARNED:
          a. The division needs a GPREG platoon assisned to it during
          combat operations. This GRREG platoon should train with the
          division during major FTX such as NTC.

          b. The Department of the Army should rewrite GRREG policies and
          procedures to accomodate the AirLand Battle concept (huge
          distances on the battlefield).

          C. Specific guidance on handling chemical casualties should be
          established as soon as possible, coordinated with higher
          headquarters, and promulgated through all levels of command.

          8. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION:
          a. Sufficient quantities of mos qualified personnel must be
          either on active duty or in the active reserve to support GRREG
          operations.

          b. AR 600-8-1 (as well as applicable field manuals) should be
          rewritten to accomodate the AirLand Battle Concept.
