            4. (U) TITLE: TACTICAL AIR CONTROL PARTY AT BRIGADE TAC

            5. (U) OBSERVATION: Tactical Air Control Parties (TACP)
            traveling forward with the brigade TAC's had inadequate
            protection from incoming fires.

            6. (U) DISCUSSION: The rapid pace of the battle required TACP's
            to operate at both brigade TOC's and TAC'S. As the TAC's
            operated well forward on the battlefield, TACP's were not
            afforded the same protection as other battle staff members.
            They operating out of HMMWV'S.

            7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Air Force TACP's operating at brigade
            TAC's need armored vehicles.

            S. (U) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Equip Air Force TACP's with
            Bradley-type vehicles to ensure both protection and adequate
            speed capability.

            9. (U) COMMENTS: Turretless Bradleys would be ad@ate.
