                    SUBJECTs Administer Convulsant Antidote for Nerve Agent (CANA)
                    using the Autoinjector


                    19   Purposso To provide guidance on the proper procedures for
                    administering CANA for buddy-aid.

                    29 FACTS.

                         A. The Convulsant Antidote for Nerve Agent (CANA)
                    autainjector Ls issued when there is a threat of nerve agent
                    exposure stored along with MARK I autolnjectors inside protective
                    task carrier.

                         b. When you come to a casualty to whom you have administered
                    three sets of MARK I injection%, or who has three expanded MARK I
                    autoinjectors hooked to the pocket of his/her overgarment, or is
                    convulsing, you should immediately administer the casualty's own
                    CANA autoinjector and hook to.pocket next to expended MARK I
                    autainjector.

                         C. The CANA is not for use as self aid. If you know who you
                    areg where you are, you most likely do not need CANA. DO NOT GIVE
                    CANA TO YOURSELF. IT IS BUDDY-AID.

                         d. Inject CANA in the same way you inject the MARK I.

                             1. When a fellow soldier need* additional MARK I
                    injections after having given himself/herself their first
                    injection( severe difficulty breathing, strange and confused
                    behavior, severely pinpointed pupils, red eyes with tearing, loss
                    of bladder/bowel control, sever* muscle twitching convulsions,
 the 2nd and 3rd
                    injections and THEN THE CANA.

                            E. If he/she has not received any MARK I injections go
                    4h*ad and give all three MARK I injections together with hi%/her
                    CANA.

                         R. After injecting buddy with hi%/her CANA got medical help.

                            DO NOT USE YOUR OWN CANA ON THE CASUALTY
