Specialized data was also provided to the Tactical Air Command (TAC) for
mission planning to help optimize sensor performance and resolve sand
degradation on their LANTIRN (Low-Altitude Navigation and @eting
InfraRed For Night) systems. (ETL)
Technical advice on ECM effects on ATGM, adaptive antenna instrwaentation,
Iraqi ECM and ECM tactics against Iraqi weapons (LABCOM HDL)
Accelerated the research and provided consultation on effectiveness of alternative
o@e breaching methods. (WES)
Accelerated the development of wave hindcast data for parts of the Persian Gulf
and developed flushing rate estimates for Saudi and Kuwait harbors. (WES)
Based on expertise and background gained while worldng on the Alaska pipeline,
CRREL provided information to the Engineer School on how best to cross the large
pi@ observed in Kuwait and Iraq.(CRREL)
CRREL is providing extensive support to National Oceanographic and
Atmospheric Agency with Remote Sensing of the Persian Gulf OH SpilL CRREL
use, a range
especially conducive to the identification of oil spills. (CRRE@S)
ETL assisted its Terrain Analysis Center in the production of dozens of different
analysis studies for the JCS, CENTCOM, and HQDA. ETL personnel
were requested by ARCENT for assistance in-country with remote sensing and
terrain analyses of desert regions. DMA also requested help with photo
interpretation of land forms needed for production of standard DRA terrain
analysis products. (ETL)
ETL helped the Terrain Analysis Center and the U. S. Army Intelligence and
Threat Analysis Center in the production of terrain intelligence studies;
transmission of those studies via secure communication links to Saudi Arabia,
and map overprinting of those intelligence products in Saudi Arabia. (ETL)
