         RMKS/1. (U) THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS PROVIDED FOR YOUR GUIDANCE:
         A.  @ ALL DEPLOYING UNITS WILL CHANGE MASK FILTERS AND/OR CANISTERS
         PRIOR TO DEPARTING CONUS. AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THIS PROCESS INVOLVES
         ENSURING ALL FILTER LOT NUMBERS ARE CHECKED AGAINST SB 3-3-2, (CS
         CANISTER AND FILTER ELEMENTS: SERVICEABILITY LISTS) AND MSG, AMCCOM
         AMSMC-CAW-C, 11180OZ MAY 90, SUBJ: UPDATE TO SB 3-30-2, CANISTER AND
         FILTER SERVICEABILITY, TO ENSURE FILTERS ARE SERVICE6BLE. EACH
         SOLDIER WILL DEPLOY WITH A SECOND SET OF FILTERS OR CANISTER. TO
         F'RECLUDE READINESS PROBLEMS WHEN SOLDIERS ARRIVE IN THE AOR, MASKS

         MUST BE INSPECTED FOR SERVICEABILITY ONCE FILTERS HAVE BEEN CHANGED
         AND PRIOR TO DEPARTING CONUS.
         B.      ONCE IN THE AOR, ALL UNITS WILL CHANGE FILTERS EVERY TWO
         MONTHS AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO HOSTILITIES INVOLVING THE USE OF TOXIC
         CHEMICAL MUNITIONS (TCM). IF TCM ARE USED, AFFECTED UNITS WILL
         CHANGE FILTERS WITHIN 30 DAYS UNLESS ATTACKED WITH A BLOOD AGENT.
         UNDER THE LATTER CONDITIONS FILTERS/CANISTERS WILL BE CHANGED
         FOLLOWING EVERY ATTACK.
         C. @AMCCOM H6S SUFFICIENT QUANTITIES OF FILTERS IN THE WHOLESALE
 THE MID-TERM. NEW
         PRODUCTION HAS BEEN INITIATED. FILTERS WILL BE PUSHED INTO THE
         THEATER TO SPT REQUIREMENTS. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT UNITS INITIATE
         POSITIVE MEASURES FOR ENSURING EVERY SOLDIER CHANGES
         FILTERS/CANISTERS IN A TIMELY MANNER.
         D.      IAW THE DOCTRINE IN CHAP 5 FM 3-4, NBC PROTECTION, RECOMMEND
         ALL FILTER ELEMENTS BE MARKED WITH THE INSTALLATION DATE ON THE
         INSIDE OF THE FILTER CONNECTOR WITH A PERMANENT MARKER. CANISTERS
         WOULD BE SIMILARLY MARKED ON THE OUTSIDE. CONDUCT PMCS WEEKLY, AND
         EACH TIME FILTERS ARE CHANGED TO ENSURE MAXIMUM OPERATIONAL
