On the 19 Dec 90, the RFCT conducted a rehearsal in Miller Gym (Ayers
Kassern). The focus was on Refuel on the Move (ROM), doctrinal brigade
movement to contact formation, and TF/Bn formations. The RFCrs key
leadership received daily intel briefings in addition to staff progress
reports of the brigades deployment to KTO.
Between 77 Dec 90 and 05 JAN 91 the RFCT's main body deployed to SWA by
both commercial and military airlift. The Aerial Port of Embarkation for the
RFCT was Rhein Main @ Force Base (RMAFB) in Frankfurt-l Germany. Soldiers
were given two bag meals, loaded their bags
an S&P trailers, and boarded busses which took them to RMAFB. From there they
were processed to their assigned aircra@ Following a seven hour flight
(average), soldiers arrived at either the Dharan International Airport or the
King Khalid International Airport. From the Aerial Part of Debarkation,
soldiers from the RFCT were taken to the Port of Dammam for in-processing
through the Ist Infantry Division (Forward) in-processing Center (Warehouse 20
at the port facility). In actuality, in-processing simply involved the senior
occupant checking in with the RFCT Liaison, who then assisted them in
determining where the soldiers would be billeted.
