        3. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY/EVENT:

              The RFCT's mission turned to protecting the force and to disable or
        destroy abandoned enemy equipment and suppges..,. Each TF was given a sector to
        search and carry out the "structiotlpf Iraqi-.@ment. The RFCT also
        initiated action to recover all        @' .@t had been disabled or abandorined
        during the preceeding four days. The Brigade also made as a priority the .
        awarding of citations and medals for a)l deserving soldiers within the RFCT.N
                On 131200CMAR91 TF 4-32.:                     to the 2 BDE which was to
        occupy defensive positions along                      line ap        tely 30
        kilometers fp-ciih Basara, Iraq (vicinity QU 100695) (Ist BDE  7FRAGO 25 to  3 AD
        OPORD 9)1-6). On 16 MAR 91, the Division issued FRAGO 123      (Screen of
        Demarkatinon Line and Defense of Northern Kuwait) to OPORD 91-1. The          FRAGO
        and the RFCT's subsequent Warning Order 91-2, gave the combat team the mission
        to relieve elements of the lst Infantry Division (M) and to de-fend in sector
        along the demarkation line and Northern Kuwait from DU 500560 to DU SM230.
        It's specified tasks were to seal the demarkation line, secure check points,
        disarm all Iraqi soldiers 'and send them north back into Iraq, and destroy all
        enemy equipment and munitions. RFCT CDFrs intent was to establish TF base
        camps in Kuwait and to operate maneuver forces in Iraq and along the
        demarkation line to preclude major unit movement after the treaty is signed.
        The Trs still operated out of their original base camps. See Annex I for
        task organization. On 17 Mar 94 the RFCT TAC deployed to the new sight in
ace with the US forces (I BDEL I ID(M))
        currently occupying the area.
              On IS MAR 94 3-20 FA is attached to the RFCT as reinforcing artillery to
        the Bde. On 190645CMAR91 the Bde Quartering Party departs under the BDE S-Z's
        control. TF 3-5 CAV's main body, whose quartering party departed two hours
        prior, moves at 191000CMAR91 to its new defensive sector. TF 4-34 AR SPs at
        191500CMAR91 and TF 5-5 CAV departed one hour later. On 2U200CMAR 91, TF
        4-32 AR is reattached to the RFCT and its T(IC establishes itself vicinity GU
        177013.   At 200730CMAR91, the remaining elements, with 2-3 FA leading
        f allowed by the T(3C, 12 EN and 503 FSB, depart for their new sector in
        Northern Kuwait       thern Iraq. By 201000CMAR91, the RFCT had completed its
        relief in pla@ The TFs center mass lcm--ations for their base camps and
        operational          power as of 201800CMAR91 are: TF 3-5 CAV (GU 745294) has 14
        MIAI'S, 46 M2/"W@and 6 M106s; TF 5-5 CAV (GRJ 631389) with 18 MIAI'S, 50
        M2/MYs, and 6 MlWs; TF 4-32 (DU 177013)'with 44 MIAl's, 13 M2/M3's, and 5
        M106's; TF 4-34 AR (GU 530426) with 37 MlAlsl 13 M2/M3's, and 6 M106!s; 2-3
        FA at GU 529400 with 24 M109s; 3-20 FA (DU 6;SO180) with 24 M109s); 12 EN
        vicinity GU 5172459 and 503d FSB at GU 633195. The TOC/TAC established their
        base camp at DU 600298. See Annex J for operational area.
