     5.DESCRIPTI(IN OF ACTIVITY/EVENT:


     The RFCT began its movement on 26 FEB 91 at approximately 0730 hours.
     Visibility was extremely poor so the -Formation closed up. The order a-F march
     remained basically the same with the exception of the 2-29 FA Bn's movement
     behind the 2-3 FA Bn. Upon reaching PL SMASH at approximately 261000CFEB919
     the RFCT halted temporarily to issue a FRAGO after having received a Division
     FRAGO over the FM net. READY 6 issued the FRAGO on the hood of the Bde S3's
     HUMMV using overlays just obtained from the Division's TAC by MAJ Clark. The
      nivision's FRA(30 ordered the RFCT to attack in zone to PL TANGERINE
        troying enemy in zone and an order continue the attack to OBJECTIVES DORSET
         MINDEN. At approximately 1100 hours, the RFCT resumed its movement
     eastward. At approximately 261630CFEB91, lead elements of TF 3-5 CAV, engaged
     T-72 tanks vicinity PU 722137. At approximately 261927CFEBI?l, a M3 from TF
     4-32 AR's Scout Platoon was destroyed vicinity PU 721162. Two soldiers were
     'Tied in action and two wounded. The RFCT continued to engage enemy armor
     and dug-in dismounted infantry with direct fire, artillery, attack helicopters
     and CAS. A technique developed during these engagements was the use of 25mm

     ,. E) +-re -From BFVs to mark targets for the A-10s. During this phase of the
     zperation, tlie location of boundaries and contact points -For the 2nd ACR, 4-7
     -AV and the RFCT led to some coordination problems along the RFCT's southern
     z'ank.
