      1. REPORT AUTHOR: MAJOR WEBER

      2. UNIT: lst Bde, 3rd ARMOR DIVISION

      3. ACTIVITY/EVENT: THE RFCT CONTINUES THE ATTACK VICINITY PL BULLET
      TO OBJECTIVE MINDEN

      4. DATE/-,IME: 270400CFEB91 TO 280645CFEB91

      5. DESCRIPTION CF ACTIVITY/EVENT:

The RFCT began its movement by battalion TF bounds at approximately
270630CFEB91. The RFCT's initial bound by TF 4-34 AR moved it about two to
three kilometers to the east. TF 3-5 CAV and TF 4-32 AR remained in overmatch
vicinity of the 71/72 north-south grid line. The second TF bound by TF 4-32
AF%, -..nmediately drew an enemy response. Approximately twenty to thirty tanks
and personnel carriers vicinity of PU 755145 and moving in a northwesterly
tion were engaged by TF 4-32 AR. Initially TF 4-32 AR reported this
Act as a possible lqaqi counterattack; however, at this time it is
U,A=termined as to whether this was a counterattack or the enemy repositioning
      I .
b, d upon TF 4-34 AR's initial bound. Upon defeating this -Force, the RFCT
again resumed its movement towards the southern half of OBJECTIVE DORSET.
Enroute the RFCT had numerous contacts with enemy elements each ranging in
size from two to eight armor vehicles. Upon reaching OBJECTIVE DORSET, the
:;;:CT again made contact with enemy armor elements. These elements were dug
to revetments that were generally oriented to the southeast. The RFCT
      ,ck'
.y over:ame this resistance and continued its movement to the southeast.
approximately 271630CFEB91 the RFCT CDR ordered the artillery to tuck in
-.-i the maneuver elements and the remainder of the Combat Team to tighten up
)r the RFCT's move to OBJECTIVE MINDEN. Enroute to OBJECTIVE MINDEN the RFCT
iE?d marching fires to engage approximately thirty to forty enemy tanks,
-mored personnel carriers, and trucks with dismounted infantry. Upon con-
wards OBJECTIVE MINDEN, the rear elements
of the RFCT encou a berm system on both sides of a paved road. The berm
caused a delay in Comment of the trains, largely due to the intended
rapid movement of th6-mAneuver elements eastward. To secure the trains
mcvemer.t into OBJECTIVE MINDEN, the RFCT CDR dispatched a TF of one tank
company and one Bradley company under the command of MAJ Rodriguez to escort
these elements into Kuwait. Lead elements of the READY FIRST COMBAT TEAM
secured OBJECTIVE MINDEN at approximately 280115CFEB91, with the trains
closing in at or around 0600 hours. A temporary cease fire was declared at or
      around ZMAQO 91-
