c. (U) Captured Enemy Material. Captured enemy material
is turned in to the DRMO once the material has been screened
for possible intelligence or operational purposes. 'The turn
in document (DD Form 1348-1) must clearly indicate that the
property is captured material and that it-4oes not contain
,ammunition, explosives or other dangerous articles.
d. (U) Chemical Defense Equipment. Unserviceable or
,6xpired shelf-life chemical protective overgarments excess to
the needs of the various commands may be turned in to the
I)RMO for reutilization or ultimate disposal. The DRMO cannot
accept overgarments which have become unserviceable because
.of chemical contamination or filters from protective masks.
These items are considered hazardous waste and must be
disposed of in accordance with service directives.
e. (U) Donated Equipment. Excess, unserviceable, or
destroyed commercial equipment which has been donated-by
foreign governments or purchased with funds provided as
assistance in kind will be treated as any other item of U. S.
Government property. The DRMO is responsible for ultimate
disposal of these items.
f. (U) Demilitarization. Demilitarization is required
for selected items to ensure that sensitive items and -
technologies do not get into the hands of individuals or
governments whose goals are contrary to those of the United
States. All property turned in to the DRMO must have the
correct demilitarization code. If demilitarization is
performed by the owning unit, it must be
accomplished prior to turning property in to the DRTIO.
g. (U) Scrap. Any property whose value is equal to or
greati@r than the value of the basic material content (except
paper, plastic, and wood), should be turned in the DR@10 for
disposal. Examples of the type property which should be
turned in as scrap include expended cartridge cases, damaged
furniture with metal components, office equipment,
unserviceable parts from the repair of major, components, eic.
