           S. @Ul OBSERVATION: A system to handle U.S. Mail was
           non-existent in the immature theater.

           6(U@ DISCUSSION:

             a.(U)@ There was no plan to deploy a postal unit to
           troop locations in the field as soon as possible.

             b.(U) @ The distribution plan for the mail to units in the
           field was unclear.

           7(P)t% LESSON LEARNED:

             a. -EUI Deploy postal units early in the deployment
             b.(U@ Initiate coordination between the APO and the 129th
           Postal Unit prior to deployment if possible.

             C. -(Ul Train postal clerks to handle large quantities of
           Mai I .


           8. -[Ul RECOMMENDED ACTION: Periodically train unit mail clerks
           with higher level postal units to practice and Increase
           understanding of distribution of mail in field conditions
