            3(U@ KEYWORDS: LOGISTICS, MANEUVER.

            4. @Ul TITLE: TRIPOD FOR THE SQUAD AUTOMATIC WEAPON -ESAWI-
            r,(Ur% OBSERVATION.  The Squad Automatic Weapon @SAW3- needs a
            tr 1 pod .

            6(U@ DISCUSSION: In the defense, a tripod for the SAW would
            be helpful. Every rifle platoon has the M-60 tripod with
            accessory pack, however, the SAW will not mount on this tripod,
            The Marine Corps has purchased an adapter enabling this to be
            done .

            7ILq% LESSON LEARNED:    To improve accuracy of the SAW, the
            dismounted squad must have a tripod.
            8(U@@31% RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the Army@consider the USMC
            adapter for use and make It available for Army combat units in
            Saudi Arabia.
