           MEMORANDUM FOR Commanders


           SUBJECT.- Corps Admin Policy: Disposition of Enemy Medical
           Vehicles



           1. This memorandum establishes procedure for disposition of
           enemy
           medical vehicles captured on the battle-Fielci.

           2. If a vehicle is externally marked with a Red Crescent/Red
           Cross or other recognizable medical symbol, use the following
           procedure:

              a. If the vehicle is just a utility vehicle, it may be
           disposed of IAW SOP.

              b. If the vehicle is configured as an ambulance, but
           contains
           ordnance considered dangerous to U.S./Coalition forces if left in
           place, and the ordnance cannot be safely removed, it can be
           destroyed in the same manner as other military vehicles.

              C. I+ the vehicle is an ambulance and does not contain
           ordnance dangerous to U.S./Coalition forces, it will not be
           destroyed. The grid coordinates of the vehicle's location will
           be
           given to the MSC G-5. The information will pass through Corps
           6-5
           channels to the ICRC so that such equipment can be used for
           humanitarian purposes.

           3. Evidence that medical vehicles have been used -For nonmedical
           military uses such as transporting ammunition will be documented
           and reported as Law of War violations through War Crimes
           reporting
           channels.
