             'ALL UNITS TH,AT POSSESS A CHEMICAL AGENT MONITOR (CAM) NEED TO BE AWARE
   TLIAT BURNING EXPLOSIVES OR ROCKET PROPELLANT MAY CAUSE FALSE READINGS AND CAN
   RUIN THE CAM. THIS PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED AFTER THE ROCKET ATTACK AT HAFUR AL
   DATIN ON 14 FEB 91 WHEN A UNIT PLACED THE CAM TO CLOSE TO BURNING DEBRI.
   2.        FUMING NITRIC ACID WILL DRIVE THE CAM TO 8 BARS ON THE MUSTARD SCALE
   AND WILL  BURNOUT THE CAM IF LEFT FOR MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS AT THAT LEVEL.
   HVDROZINE ALSO ASSOCIATED WITH MUNITIONS FIRES WILL CAUSE A B AGENT FALSE
   READING OF ABOUT 4 BARS.
   7.        UNITS NEED TO ENSURE THAT IF THEY ARE TRYING TO MONITOR BURING REMAINS
   FROM MUNITIONS THAT THEY START READING FROM A DISTANCE AND WALK FORWARD. DO
   NOT LET THE CAM PEG FOR MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS. IF YOU GET A READING, CONFIRM
   USING THE M256 KIT TO ENSURE IT IS NOT A FALSE READING.
   4. (U) TO PRECLUDE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE PLEASE DISSEMINATE THIS INFORMATION TO
   ALL CAM OPERATORS IN YOUR COMMAND.
