  27 Jan 91 5 USC 522(b)(6)

Message passed from MAJ Nye that the Brits have 9 military dogs. They
have no veterinary support in country and need help. LTC Lively discussed
with COL Tsoulos. COL Tsoulos said as long as we could support to go
ahead. COL Brack Watson assigned as the MEDCOM chaplain. Received a
complete breakdown on the personnel of the 356th Med Det. Follow-up call
from Mps reference the feral dogs at Patriot site. They were told that
animal control is an MP function. When asked about shooting the animals
they were referred to the ARCENT Provost Marshal.

  28 Jan 91

CPT O'Brien and LTC Capucci called. They are assigned to the 403rd CA
Co. which is attached to the Ist MEF. They are to be involved in Disaster
Assessment Teams. They were interested in any information available
relating to veterinary medicine. LTC Lively suggested that they attend the
Friday veterinary service meeting at Dammam (483rd Med Det). Received a
call from a 91R at the Expo Center. He is an individual replacement.
Message was passed to MAJ Gaiser to collect him and any other individual
replacements. First phase of the Ration Traceability Program completed by
  CW3 Brandow.

  29 Jan 91

Received a call from more replacements. LTC Capucci called. He
wanted to know if we knew the location of COL Herbert Smith. He is
supposedly either at the Embassy working as a special assistant to the
ambassador or he is at CENTCOM as a special consultant on preventive
medicine. We are not presently aware of his location. Call from MAJ
Stedman, EHO and Al Dafra, UAE. He wanted to know the status of the
inspection at the Marmum Dairy. We are waiting word from CPTs Whippo and
Thompson. CPT Thompson returned to Riyadh from UAE. The dairy failed. He
feels it would need 50-100 thousands dollars to become acceptable. CPT
whippo remained in UAE with 14AJ Jackson to help him get settled.
