received Red Cross Message that his father had passed away.
LTC Lively notified to make his permanent move to Riyadh as soon as
possible. departed on emergency leave to attend funeral. At 2225
a SCUD was fired at Riyadh.
22 Jan 91
LTC Lively, MAJ Adamsom, CPT Adams, and CPT Thompson all arrived in
Riyadh. MAJ Adamson and CPT Adams are preparing to go to Jiddah, Taif and
Khamis Muschait on 23 Jan 91. 301st ASG Gp passed request from Eastern
catering Co for discussion with contracting. Request was passed to Host
Nation CENTCOM Contracting. MRE DOP 12/30/86 Chicken A-La-King - sweller,
Lot number 200, 790605 CINPAC. 416th ENCOM told to remove the bad item
since there was only one. At 2120 there was a SCUD alert. No missiles
came in. Israel was hit with 4 resulting in 3 deaths and several injuries.
23 Jan 91
MAJ Adamsom and CPT Adams were not able to get out at 0700. Will try
again later in the day. MAJ Jackson and CPT Whippo stayed overnight before
departing for UAE. LTC Lively getting settled in. obtained pass for entry
to MEDCOM. MAJ Adamson and CPT Adams got flight in the evening. SCUD
alert at 23:00. Two missiles outside the compound. No injuries.
24 Jan 91
MAJ Jackson, CPT Whippo, and CPT Thompson departed for UAE. CPT
Whippo and CPT Thompson will inspect a fluid dairy in UAE. MAJ Jackson m
will be staying on site in UAE to support MWDs and to perform sanitaries.
LTC Lively attended meeting at MEDCOM. LTC Lively and CW3 Brandow began
serious work on a MEDCOM Bulletin 40-1 for the ARCENT MEDCOM.
25 Jan 91
CW3 Brandow accompanied COL Trask to Dhahran for the weekly veterinary
meeting at the 483rd Med Det. LTC Lively continued work on the 40-1
the area of the Patriot
missile site. LTC Lively told them he would look into the matter. LTC
Dutton called to ask if the A ration system was still functioning. He m
indicated they were not seeing A rations at his location. Also asked about
MORE rations. MOREs are coming in to KKMC for unitization. A ration
system is not broke although it may be slow do to non availability of
trucks.
26 Jan 91
CW3 Brandow accompanied COL Trask to KKMC for the weekly veterinary
meeting at the 422nd Med Det. Work continued on 40-1. SFC Pratt
consolidated approved source files from LTC Lively with those already
present to establish a single clean set on files. SGT Cheever is
developing Operation Desert Storm forms to support the 40-1. The 356th Med
Det arrived at Dhahran. They will be quartered at Khobar Towers in the
area previously occupied by the 422nd. They have 26 personnel. six vet
