         Kuwait City Restoration - Situation Reporti (u)

         1. (U) Significant activities for 7 March 1991:
             a@V@tni@j    Nuclear, Biological, Chemical:   On 6 Mar the
         Briga   /chemical Officer, the CENTCOM Medical Intelligence
         Officer and a sampling team from the 9th Chemical Company acted
         upon a request from CENTCOM J2 to sample a suspected biological
         warfare storage bunker, vicinity of AN NASIRIYAH, IZ. The team
         flew to the bunker complex which appeared to have been destroyed
         by "special munitions". The team took soil samples, a solidified
         substance exuding from a projectile, and some liquid present in
         one of the bunkers. The samples have been sent to a CONUS
         laboratory for analysis.                                 5USC552(b)(1)

         indications of threats to U.S. or Coalition forces during the
         period 061200C thru 071200C March 1991.

         (%TCMEC):
             (I lqlulnr) JCMEC operations were limited by the
         availa@ Lty of dedicated Heavy Equipment Transporters (HET) with
         winch capability and 5-ton wreckers. However, eleven (11) HETs
         are expected to arrive this afternoon.
