                            ANNEX 1 - SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL

         The following procedures apply to solid waste disposal for the KKMC
         area of operations:

         1.   Normal solid waste (non-hazardous)       Waste may be disposed of
         either in the division operated landfill (should be opened,
         operated and closed IAW TM 5-814-5, Sanitary Landfills, dated
         August 1983) or the KKMC landfill.        Coordinates of location and
         size of closed landfills will be reported to DEH by the RA.A LNO.

         2.   The KKMC landfill is separated into six areas for solid waste
         disposal. Waste should be separated accordingly and dumped in the
         landfill located in area 17, southwest KKMC. See attachments for
         specific  location of landfill and the disposal areas within the
         landfill. The waste categories are as follows:

              a.    Regular refuse (paper, cans, MRE packs, plastic bottles,
         etc.)

              b.    POL waste

              C.    Construction Waste (Wood, Steel and Concrete)

              d.    Hazardous Waste


              e.    Animal Waste

              f.    Hospital waste

         3.   Hazardous waste disposal. Hazardous waste should be disposed
         in the  defined area of the KKMC landfill.         Hazardous waste is
         defined as follows:

              a.    Paint Sludge

              b.    Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB)

              C.    Battery Acid

              d.    Vehicle Batteries

              e.    Lithium Batteries


              f.    X-Ray Developer

              9.    Laboratory reagents

              h.    Xylene/Toluene

              i.    Heavy Metals

              j.    Tires
