SUBJECT: After Actions Review, Desert Shield/Storm

            1. Per memorandum dated 12 July 199i, the -Following After Actions
            Review is submitted:

                  a. Deployment

(15 Our unit was reasonably prepared For overseas
deployment. POR was up to date and load plans were in existence.
However, some inoculations were still required, and the load plans
had to be modified to bring along the additional equipment
recommended by the units already on the ground.
                        (2) Installation support was hesitant until we appeared on
the WWMCS. Vehicle painting and Family Support continued to need
            emphasis. Overall satisfactory.
                        (3) A 3 day EDRE is unrealistic. Recommend a 14 day
            preparation followed by an exercise.

                  b. Mobility

                        (1) We have more equipment than we can organically
transport. Vehicle planning for TOE requirements ooes not consider
CTA, personal gear, @-0 days of expendables, etc.
(25 Our present vehicles are not suited far a++ road use.
I+ we are to "join the Army" we need HUMMV's or equivalent.
                        (3) A 3 man team could be dispatched -for extended

                  C. Communication

                        (1) Our comma worked within it's limitations.

                  d. Incident Reporting

                        (1) Most incidents were received through the Part BCOC.
Our permanence allowed land line reporting.
                        (2) After most units were sent -forward we received
incidents through the 542d EODCT at the ARCENT RAOC. This worked
            very well for us.
                        (3) Prioritization was done at unit level and worked well
