              5. (U) OBSERVATIONs Ist ID (M) effectively identified and
              requisitioned CDE shortages at the division level.

              6. (U) DISCUSSION: lst ID (M) realized shortages division-wide
              in-
                   (a) Previously unfielded but new equipment such as
                   M13 DAP (14 liter DS2 can with spray wand)
                   M17 SANATOR (stand alone water pump with heater and 1500 gal
              tank)
                   CAM (Chemical Agent Monitor)

                   (b) Fielded equipment such as:
                   Mask Hoods                        M9 Paper
                   Detector Kits                     Decontaminants
                   Chemical Alarm Maintenance Kits
                   Chemical Alarm Batteries

                   (c) Ist ID (M):
                    Determined BOI for un-Fielded equipment, requested and
              received it (with exception of the CAM), including NET Team
              Training -For the SANATOR.
                   Required a certified rDIlUp Of shortages not already on
              requisition from the MSCs and separates. Then requistion
eposit in and subsequent issue from
              the MMC Class II/IV ASL.

              7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: The option for follow-on units to
              requisition un-Fielded chemical equipment is viable only if:

                   The unit has the haul capability and, in the case of the
              SANATOR, a prime mover (displaced M12 PDDA freed a 5-ton truck).

                   The unit can devote training time to the item.

                   The option to requisition fielded chemical equipment is
              viable only if:

                   Aforementioned inventories are conducted at HS and
              completed.
