        MEMORANDUM FOR COMMANDERS


        SUBJECT: Change I to Mail Control Procedures (CORRECTED COPY)



        1.  References:


            a. CG Memorandum, 22 Mar 91, subject: Mail Control
        Procedures.


            b. ARCENT PERSCOM Message. 31165OZ Mar 91, subect, 100%
        Visual Inspection (copy at Encl)

        2.  Commanding General's intent is to ensure that no contraband
        or ordnance is mailed from Saudi Arabia- His expectation is that
        commanders will institute procedures to preven such occurrences
        and ensure that the chain of con=and gives oriarity of attention
        to this area of potential hazard.

        3.  As a minimum, commanders will institute the procedures as
        outlined in enclosure.

        4. Upon closure in the RAA, commanders will comply with CENTCOM
        intent, which is to have DS postal units   or mobile APO inspect
        all packages.

        5.  All packages leaving Saudi Arabia will be X-rayed prior to
        departure. POC is LTC Cole, 9-300-7911-277/182/184.
