    1. ISSUE: Project Jayhawk Reunion

    2. DISCUSSION:


        a. PROJECT JAYHAWK REUNION is a comprehensive program
    designed to address adjustment problems that soldiers
    returning from Southwest Asia (SWA) and families may encounter
    upon reunion.

        b.   The concept of the program revolves on using written
    and video material to educate soldiers-through awareness
    education while in SWA. Family education in Europe will be
    provided through the same media as well as group seminars with
    trained facilitators.    Plan to use existing structures of
    FACS, FS(is and other groups to implement program in Europe.

        C. Reunion packet with lesson plans were provided by the
    U.S. Army Family Support Center, Alexandria, Virginia.
    Additional lesson plans, pamphlets and other written media
    were developed by the VII Corps Base Directorate of Personnel,
    Community Activities and Safety (DPCAS) distributed under
    separate cover).

        d.   DPCAS is also coordinating the development of a
    generic video to  be used with soldiers and families. Content
    of video revolves on issues service member and spouse will
    have to face upon reunion.

        e. Sufficient    quantities of pamphlets   and other written
    materials will be reproduced and shipped to SWA by the end'of
    April.

        f. Video will 'be completed in early May. Copies can be
    provided to each VII Corps brigade and headquarters element, in
    SWA.


    3.  VII CORPS POSITION:    Implement Project Jayhawk Reunion in
    VII Corps MILCOMS and in units deployed in SWA.
