1. ISSUE: Chemical care of casualty training +or medical personnel.
2. DISCUSSION: Medical platoon personnel were inadequately prepared
-For treating casualties on a chemical battlefield using the latest
equipment and techniques. d when new equipment (such
as the Chemical Agent Monit nd additional training was
provided, but in general, t een given as high a
priority in the past as the red.
3. RECOMMENDATION: Recomm Medical Platoon be required to
participate in chemical ion and care exercises at
least once a quarter. rc ses must ensure adequate training
an recognizing and tr 2a hemical casualties by type of casualty,

decontaminating chemica alties, and transporting chemical
casualties. In addition, recommend that at least one soldier from the
Medical Platoon be trained at the Chemical Casualty Care Course, and
that a requirement be made that one school trained soldier (E-6 or
above) be present in the platoon at all times.
