                  1.   Reference !Sth Abn Corps message, 190151ZMAR91, the
                       I
                       Following information is provided. The information
                       concerns engineer operations 9 AUG 90          MAR 91 during
                       Operation Desert Sliield/Storn.

                       PHASE I (Deployment)

                         Built showers, sinks (wash basins), latrines, tent
                         floor pads, brigade gym sets, desks, tables, chairs,
                         picnic tables, mail boyes, mapboards, field containers,
                         weapons racks, sumps, aviation'maintenance facilities,
                         and airborne proficiency mockups for 6 base camps.
                         These base camps were Champion Main, Al Hasa, Haii 2,
                         Cam.o Red Falcon, @ihite Falcon, and Gold Falcon.

                  b. PHASE 11 (Trainina4pefense)

                       - Built targets, ttie firet Iraqi strongpoint training
                         facility, and a tank qualification range (M551
                         Sheridan).   Built two MOUT facilities, one at Ayn Dhar,
                         another at Khalid Range.

                       - Constructed 50i,,m of MSR, Ist Cav Div (618 EN CO).

                       - Developed the Coros standard minefield and obstacle
                         breachinc drills, minefie-ld laying drill, and minefield
                         marking techniques.

                       - The engineer battalion conducted a ten day combat
                         engineer platoon EXEVAL.

                       - Fully supported tt-ici battalion tasi::force EXEVALS.

                       - The first US engineers to conduct training with Saudi
                         enginr-ers.

                       - Only Armv comuat engineer unit (8/307 EN BN) to conduct
                         joint training with both Navy SEASEE's and Marine
                         engineers-.
