    1. I strongly recommend approval for award of the Meritorious Unit
    Commendation for the 2E3th Combat Support Hospital.

    2. The 29th Combat Support Hospital provided exceptional primary medical
    care, hospitalization, and surgical service to XVIII Airborne Corps soldiers
    throuohout Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The unit rapidly
    deployed to Saudi Arabia and established medical operations in the Dhahran
    area. During offensive operations, the unit moved forward into Iraq where
    they provided superb hospitalization and surgical care to XVIII Airborne Corps
    soldiers and Iraqi civilian casualties;'  The soldiers and leaders of the
    -@'Sth Combat Support Hospital performed a difficult mission with uncommon e>:-
    cellence and are most deserving of recognition for their service.
