23 July 1991
THRU
Commander, lst Corps Support Comma-nd, Fort Bragg, North Carolina
28307-5000
Commander, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina 28307-5000
FOR Commander, Headquarters, Third U.S. Army, ATTN: AFRD-PC-S, Fort
Gillem, Georgia 30050-5000
1. Strongly recommend approval.
2. The 47th Combat Support Hospital performed exceptionally well during
Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield. After arriving in the theater,
the hospital received its DEPMEDS equipment. Quickly transitioning from
MUST to DEPMEDS equipment, the 47th Combat Support Hospital was able to
provide superb medical and surgical care to combat casualties in Iraq.
This command is most deserving of the Meritorious Unit Commendation in
recognition of its success while performing a challenging mission.
