MEMORANDUM FOR SEE DISTRIBUTION
SUBJECT: Married Army Couple Policy
1. Married Army couples assigned to the 82d Airborne Division will not be
provided special living arrangements or preferential treatment during
Operation DESERT SHIELD.
2. This policy is not intended to deny married Army couples the
opportunity to visit one another. Its intent is to ensure that equal
treatment is afforded to all troopers consistent with their position in
the organization.
3. Perceptions that special treatment is afforded married Army couples
must be eliminated in order to preserve the morale of all Division
troopers. Married Army couples must adhere to the same regulatory
standards that single troopers and geographical bachelors are subjected
to.
