    SPO (PLNS/OPNS)
SUBJECT: Addendum to Daily Staff Journal (DA Fm 1594) for 1830 - 0630
    hrs 23 Feb 91

        j. COSCOM questions how much Gamagoblin serum is available and
when can the Med Bde schedule "Booster" immunization teams? - (Action:
    Plns/Opns and Prof Svc)

             Follow-up coordination with MAJ'S@oedecker, 428 MEDSOM,
indicated that approximately 2100 vials were on hand. Will pass
further coordination actions for Teams on to Opns (day shift) for
    taskings or required acions.

        k. Reference log entry # 04 (2300 hrs) - COSCOM (Med Opns), MSG
Hendricks called asking how much Anthrax vaccine was available at the
13th EVAC; that the 159th CSS in VIC of LBE had approximately 1700
soldiers still requiring vaccination. Initial -Follow-up with TF-EH
(MAJ Braham), revealed that olla '3 Feb, LTC Moore (TF-EH Cdr), LTC Gray
(818th Med Bn Cdr) and COL Dossett (Ch, Prof Svc/Med Bde) had
coordinated and decided that the mission as tasked on 8 Feb in a memo
(SPO/OPN), Subi: Anthrax Vaccination Teams, would be revised and that
the 618th Med Bn would complete this mission solely. Apparently this
decision was made unbeknownst to OACS, SPO. -At any rate, further
contact with 818th Med Bn (CPT Richards), revealed basically the same
information. Per CPT Richards approximately 1300 doses of vaccine are
curently on-hand at the following elements:
             (1) 13 EVAC - 900 doses
             (2) 120 MED DET (OA) - 250 doses
             (3) 81B MED BN 210 doses
CPT Richards states that he'll begin contigency planning to administer
remaining doses ASAP but will require Bde assistance as follows:
             (4) 159 CSG POC and # - (MAJ Baylor. 7720-212)
             (5) Sde interface with MEDSOi@--(d@a-e--t6 min 48 hr requirement
on requisitions) in order to obtain additional lcc syringes and
    vaccine.
             (6) BP Med Tent +or immunization administration (should be
    provided by 159th)
             (7)  Appro-, -Four (4) personnel for admin support (again;
    requesting unit).
Will pass POC name/# for 159 CSO on to CPT Richards +or direct
coordination. Recommend close follow-up on this mission to ensure
completion as COSCOM perceives this as another Bde mission "dropped".
Also recommend Coordinating/Special Staff and Subordinate Commands be
    informed of proper procedures/authority +or "initial/subsequent"
    mission tasking actions.

    2. COSCOM Med Opns can be reached at 9- 7710-799.
