16 December - Bn S3 visits 70th Ord Bn at TSA-4, Log Base
Bravo, LTC Kenneally, Northern Logistics Ops Center at KKMC,
and 450th Ord Co at TSA-3, Log Base Alpha. Bn trucks loaded
with ammunition are being off-loaded in darkness at TSA-3.
Efforts to improve movement of ammunition are discussed.
Bn HETs and lowboys observed late at night moving armored
vehicles northwest along Dodge with convoy of VII Corps
units. In the darkness, the lights of the convoy stretch
into the distance for miles. From horizon to horizon, these
are the only lights to be seen. Every set of headlights is
an American truck. Travelling 30 yards apart seemingly
without end, they are like a river of unquenchable fire.
          Weather cool, clear. No moon.

17 December - weapons tested by Bn troops by firing from
Landing Craft Utility (LCU) at a "boat range" sponsored by
the USCG Port Security Unit. Bn S3 returns from recon to
KKMC. Bn Cdr conducts meeting with Co Cdrs, and Bn staff.
Additional HET assets received from Jeddah and Riyadh. Saudi
drivers predominate in this new group. The contractor says
they are desert men. Weather cool. No moon.

18 December - Bn S3 visits Bn Forward in Jubayl with COL Gaw,
          Cdr, 32nd Trans Group.

19 December - Fifty five (55) [iETs and 21 lowboys sent to
          Jubayl.

20 December - Additional assets convoyed north to Jubayl.

21 December - Battalion placed on alert due to test launch of
          missile in Israel.

22 December - 7th Group holds Christmas picnic and concert
next to the barge. Troops laugh as a soldier imitates
President Bush, "Read my lips. No rotation home."

23 December - Unit is placed on Threatcon Charlie as a
precaution during the Christmas season. Battalion XO visits
          from Jubayl.

24 December - The first issue of maps. All that we have been
using so far have been scrounged, and in some cases purchased
          on the economy.

25 December - Christmas Day. Bn is visited by MAJ Kacsan and
