            4 January - Priority of movement from 93rd MC Bn is VII
           Corps, 1 Cav Div, Tiger Bde 2nd AD, UK forces, 75th Arty,
           theatre sustainment, Force Mod, and ammunition. Convoys are
           now defined as 6 vehicles or more. infiltration is defined
           as 5 vehicles or less. The struggle to acquire additional
           commercial truck assets for the Army continues unabated. The
           problem is not the availability of trucks, but the
           availability of U.S. drivers. We will get the trucks. We
           need reliable drivers.

            5 January - 702 FRAGO 01-91; Mission: Transport ammunition,
           general supplies, and containers from seaports to theatre
           log bases.

           Efforts continue to obtain additional commercial flatbed
           trucks. Bn XO visits Bn troops supporting I Cav Div.
           Concerns are raised over the lack of small arms ammunition
           needed to supply a basic load for filler personnel. At
           present, it is not available for provisional support units.
           The basic load of MTOE units making up the battalion will
           have to be shared unless additional ammunition can be
           procured.

            6 January - Actual hand off of liET and LB assets to the
           1103rd. Commercial truck assets are now listed as follows:

           only the flatbeds are a 7th Group asset. The others will be
           used by the 1103rd Trans Bn, and are OPCON to the 32nd
           Transportation Group. In a news item, NATO, including
           German, war planes flew to Turkey to reinforce that country's
           defenses against Iraq.

            7 January - Bn Cdr departs to Riyadh to look at trucks,
           mostly Mercedes, Model 1924 single axle tractors. Trailers
           are a mix of flatbeds, drop sides, and livestock carriers.
           Directed Bn reps at Pulaski to report to Bn and not call Gp
           directly. Movement of I Cav Div to the west continues.

            8 January - Bn Cdr proceeds to Jeddah to look at more
           commercial truck assets. Observed 170 trucks, mostly
           Mercedes, Model 1924, and approximately 500 livestock
           carriers, and 70 flatbed trailers. The contractor is
           promising delivery of 600 assets by Saturday. A Greek
