           MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD

           SUBJECT: Chronology of 3AD NBC Activities For Desert Shield/Storm


           ACTIVITY: NBC INSPECTIONS
           DATE/TIME: OCTOBER - DECEMBER 90
           DESCRIPTION: The Division Chemical Section conducted detailed
           inspections of every company assigned to 3AD. The inspection
           included: Mask serviceability; Radiac equipment calibration and
           wipe testst Chemical detection equipment shelf-life and expiration
           dates; War stock level and serviceability; Decontaminant leakage
           and hazardous waste turn in.



           ACTIVITY: Camphor request for 3AD Units
           DATE/TIME: NOVEMBER 90
           DESCRIPTION: Requested and received Camphor through the 3AD
           Division Surgeon. Distributed Camphor to Brigades separate
           Battalions and companies to conduct Mask fittina and seal tests.'


           ACTIVITY: Wipe Test Training for Chemical Agent Monitors (CAM)
           DATE/TIXE: NOVEMBER 90
           DESCRIPTION: Chemical section personnel certified 39Es to conduct
           CAM wipe tests. This training was conducted at Edwards Chapel.


           ACTIVITY: Special Mask Fitting
           DATE/TIME: NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 90
           DESCRIPTION: AMCCOM team fit soldiers unable to be fitted with M17
           series masks for M40 series masks. This operation was conducted
           at Edwards Chapel.


           ACTIVITY: Chemical Personnel Cross leveling
           DATE/TIME: NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 90
           DESCRIPTION: Cross leveled and filled out the majority of senior
           level 54B positions and all 74A positions in 3AD. Many 54B who
           were deployable from the U.S. to Europe were non-deployable to the
           Middle East because of medical limitations,
