     25 Nov 90
          The week prior to 25 Nov was characterized by hurry up and wait, you
     will load at the rail head today, no it won't be until tomorrow, no it
     will be Saturday. It was Saturday, 25 Nov 90, that the train cars spotted
     at Pioneer Kaserene and we rail loaded. we began loading our equipment at
     1200hrs and completed at 2400hrs. We then took Sunday off and enjoyed one
     of our last remaining full days with our families.

     26 Nov 90 - 9 Dec 90
          During the period from when we loaded our equipment to the day we
     departed, we conducted extensive training on the following subjects:
          a. Marksmanship
          b. NBC
          c. Desert Survival
          d. Map reading using the geographical coordinate scale
          e. Law of Land Warfare
          f. Customs and traditions of the host nation.

     4 Dec 90
          The Advance Party departed from Rhein Main for Saudi Arabia.

     5 Dec 90
          The Advance Party arrived at Al Jabayl Airfield. The Advance Party
     made initial coordination with 2d COSCOM staff at ARCENT Headquarters and
     contacted the Port Commander at Dammam for billeting arrangements for the
     Main Body. A reconnaissance of LOG BASE ALPHA was conducted contact was
     iade with the Corps Reception Station In the Tactical Assembly Area.

     8 Dec 90
          The Main Body departed in 2 Increments. One from Nuernberg and one
     from Stuttgart.

     9 Dec 90
          The Main Body arrived at King Fahd Airport and Dhahran Airport. We
     all went to the Port of Dammam where we stayed overnight in warehouses and
     began meeting the new units assigned to the group.

     9 Dec 90 - 17 Dec 90
          We set up temporary residence in the EXPO Center. Reconnaissance of
     LBA were conducted to determine locations for the headquarters and layout
     of the support base. We waited for our equipment to arrive by sea vessel.

     17 Dec 90
          The Advance Party moved to establish LBA. The desert was bleak,
     flat, and there was a feeling of emptiness because no other units were in
     the area yet.

     18 Dec 90
          The Main Body arrived and established command presence at LBA.
