SUBJECT: Aviation SOP for Task Force victory II
1. Missions
a. Aviation support missions will be requested through
Victory S-3.
(1) Victory S-3 will assign and prioritize missions based on
Task Force Victory requirements and aircraft availability.
(2) Victory S-3 Air will process and pass a standard Avia-
tion Mission Tasking to the Avn Det telephonically or in person.
b. Normally, 24 hour notice is required to schedule, plan,
.and execute a mission.
c. Short notice missions can be accomplished, but scheduled
maintenance may be affected possibly degrading the overall
availability of aircraft for future missions.
d. The detachment commander or representative will meet
face-to-face with Victory S-3 daily by 1630 hours to accomplish
the following:
(1) Discuss post-mission debriefs.
(2) Coordinate missions for the following day (S-3 Air).
(3) Turn-in the number of aircraft hours flown that day and
the aircraft maintenance status.
e. Detachment commander will give consideration to the
requirement for a spare aircraft based on the type of mission
requested and aircraft availability. The 12 point ICS aircraft
will be utilized for ambassadors and officers above the rank of
ma]or general.
f. Unaided flights between official sunset and sunrise will
generally not be conducted except in an emergency or as deter-
mined by the detachment commander.
