a . Missions will be briefed IAW AR 95-1. DA Form 5484-R

will be posted in Avn Dot operations. Deviations from the
briefed mission are authorized for emergencies, unforecast

briefing officer and annotated on the brief sheet. This may be
accomplished telephonically or via FM radio. The PC/AMC will note
deviations in the post-mission portion of the brief sheet.
b. Flight plans will be filed with Avn Dot operations using
AE Form 1010. PCs may open, close, extend, or amend flight plans
on FM 69.00. For missions terminating at locations other than
DOHA, this will be accomplished telephonically. The Avn Det
radio operator will accomplish the following for overdue air-
craft:
(1) 15 minutes past due, conduct a radio search on FM 69.00
and FM 42.20. Ask responding stations if they have heard from
the missing aircraft.
(2) 30 minutes past due, conduct a ramp search.
(3) 60 minutes past due, call 2d Avn Bde S-3 to initiate
Search and Rescue.
c. A weather briefing will be obtained prior to each mis-
sion. A local weather briefing will suffice for missions in
Kuwait. A DD Form 175-1 weather briefing will be obtained for
missions to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and all IFR flights. Brief-
ings may be obtained from the DOHA weather station 0500-1800

weather station (tel. 88-318-8282-840) or the Riyadh weather
station (tel. 88-318-435-5582). Briefing extensions and updates
are available from DOHA weather on FM 42.20 during normal duty
hours. PIREPs are encouraged on the same frequency.
d. SAAFRs (Standard Army Aviation Flight Routes) will be
used whenever possible and annotated on the mission brief and AE
Form 1010 maintained in Avn Det operations. SAAFRs are depicted
in the Aviation Procedures Guide (APG).
