                 The assembly area, located just outside the Saudi Capitol of Riyahd,
               served as a staging base for a Quick Reaction Force that could stop
               expected attacks on key installations around the city. The. list of
               important facilities that fell under our protective umbrella was
               extensive. CENTCOM, ARCENT, MARCENT, and CENTAP headquarters as
               well as the U.S. Embassy all relied on the 3rd Brigade for protection.

               reconnoitered the
               various sites in
               depth and provided
               sapper te=s to
               support the Quick
               Reaction Forces,
               Charlie Company also@h@                            buci and IMXM
               their assembly areas. Some of the projects completed Include leach pits,
               bunkers and forufications, cwcme obstacles, and traffic control berms.
                  On 4 February, Charlie Company, along with 3rd Brigade, moved to a
               nearby airfield for movement by air to the tacucal amrnbly area near
               Rafha, The War seemed clmr than ever at that point. In the few short
