              ISSUE: PLL  and

              DISCUSSION: 'We never ran out of mission consumable supplies.
 This tells me that the PLL ajid ASL levels were adequate and well thought out.
 However, my platoon identified one piece of equipment that needs to be added
 @to the prescribed load list, the electronic sending unit for the transmission.
  One three sep4rate.occasions this sendinc unit failed on different vehicles.

 No'one was able to give an adequate explanation as to why this was the case.
 When this unit fails,the vehicle transmission becomes stuck in the lowest gear
 and will not shift.

             RECOMMENDATION: Add these sending units to the PLL stockage
.levels and ensure that every. vehicle carries one as a spare for emergencies.
 .These boxes are easy to change and can be changed by the driver in less than
 .five minutes. They are located in the cat) of the vehicle between the driver's
 and commander's seat and are easily accessible. Thyssen Henschel needs to be
 made aware of this problem so that.,fur@hei- testing can be performed and an
 adequate  solution to the,prol@ilem can be identified.
