         proceeded inside the turret to get the asbestos gloves.  I saw smoke on
         the back deck and that there were numerous portable fire extinguishers
         being used on the back deck.  When I got to the asbestos gloves I heard
         "Goddam Fire!" "Evac the tank!"  I got out of the turret saw a small
         flame in the transmission door area.  Which were now open.  I jumped from
         the top of the turret.  I ran about one hundred (100) meters and turned
         around.  I saw flames both on the back deck and underneath around the
         hulk plates area on the right side of the tank.  I then ran two hundred
         (200) more meters away from the tank.
         
             While were checking the transmission oil the oil bubbled over the
         filler cap and seemed to run down the side of the filler cap.
