             Significant trends:
                  *This unit receives "vat can"    food, and have had
             diarrhea/GI rates of 2% or greater    for 2 weeks. The
             majority of this week's 19 cases were seen as a cluster over
             a 2 day period. Outbreaks at other units occurred during
             the same period.
                  **This small detachment has had high diarrhea/GI rates
             (anecdotally) for several weeks. The unit corpsman
             indicates that chow is sometimes shared in forward areas
             with foreign forces.

             Significant trends:
                  *Diarrhea has been very rare in these units until the
             latter half of this week, when a cluster of 140 cases
             occurred. The timing was identical to clusters seen
             elsewhere. "Vat can" food is delivered to forward areas.
             The exact source of the outbreak is unknown.
