12. Climate Considerations
Terrain is mostly upland desert plains; narrow, flat, sandy
coastal plains backed by flat-topped hills and rugged mountains.
The climate is extremely hot and dry. Temperatures below freezing
may occur in the SW highlands. Monsoon season is Jun- Sep. High
winds blowing dust and sand may aggravate eye and respiratory
conditions. Adequate fluids, eye and skin protection are
recommended.
