(1) Water Tea=:
The water team focused its activities on
the -.m.,tediate restoration of r,,anicipal water supplies -by exmrliting
existing reservoir stores of over I billion gallons for evida-Acit of
chemical contamination by Iraqi personnel and assisting 4-n the
rapid reestablishment of water quality assascms-,it se-@ces by the
Ministry Of Wate- and Electricity. -The water desaliti;m@ion plants
were all severely damaged, but some of the water reservoirs were
above the' city' elevation. Based upon the negative test results
provided by the Navy tea6m, water was released to the Kuwait City
distribution system via grav4-@ly flow. During their stay in Kuwait
the water team:
a. Conducted aL damage -assessment survey
at the Shuwaykb Water Desalination Treatment Plant, Kuwait City
&lo=; witt Army Corp of Engineers personnel.
b. Coordinated activities with
5 U.S.t. 552 (b)(6) Deputy of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Ele--tricity and Water
