Significant trends:
*Though the diarrhea rate appears to be high in this
small unit, it is distinctly different from similar co-
located units utilizing same messing situation. Unit MO
states that diarrhea cases occurred in those who ate at a
mess hall located at a different camp.
;*This unit operates its own mess facility, where initial
deficiencies in fresh vegetable disinfection have been
corrected. Rates have dropped since this intervention.

Significant trends:
*Data is insuf -iicient to reliably identify trends.
Multiple units shitrii common mess, but reporting is very
incomplete. Units mobile, dif f icult to reach.
Anecdotal accounts from these units indicate that
isolated outbreaks of enteric illness are occuring.
Procurement of local ice was implicated in one cluster.
Sharing chow facilities in forward areas with host nation
and other forces has also been implicated. Need better
penetration of surveillance in these units.
2. OVERALL TPJM ANALYSIS
a. Heat injury Paucity of cases reflects excellent PM and
unit discipline.
