                        4 Reassure the Victim with firm. but
                        friendly beneficial advice, in a6 manner
                        that the casualty can comprehend.

                        5 Restrain the individual if needed.
                        Any movement will Increase body
                        temperature and could cause serious
                        damage.

                        0 Give fluids only when the individual
                        can drink unassisted. If dehydration
                        occurs, medical personnel will treat the
                        victim.


                        7 Remove anything near the victim that
                        may be hazardous to the individual, or
                        that the victim could use to hurt someone
                        else.


                        8 Approach with caution. even if the victim
                        is calm, they could be dangerous. Close
                        observation is essential.

                        9 Diagnosis of the exact agent used
                        will be very difficult for medical personnel,
                        zinc* there are many different types of
                        incapacitating agents.

      NOTE: The remaining 4 types of chemical agents are toxic
      chemical agents.

      V.  B-linter axonts (toxic)

          Blister agents are used primarily for casualties effects. They
          may also be used to restrict the use of terrain, to slow
          movements, and to hamper use of materials and installations.
          These agents affect the eyes. lungs and blister the skin. During
          World War 1. mustards were the blistering agent of choice.
          It was recognized by &_distinctive odor and had a fairly long
          duration of effectiveness under normal weather conditions. Sinc*
          then, blister agents have been modified, which may be odorless and
          vary in duration of effectiveness. Most blister agents are
    insidious in action: there is little or no pain at time of
          exposure. Tb* development of casualties is somewhat delayed.
          Prot*ction iron blister agents is extremely difficult. Because of
          tb*ir liquid form they may penetrate the protective overgarment.
          Tb*ro are three groups of Blister Agents: IMSTARDS, ARSZXICALS
          and URTICANTS.
