SUBJECT: Destruction of Biological Warfare Storage Bunkers
1. A point paper on the above subject has been requested and the
question posed to the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute 0f
Infectiouts Diseases (USAMRIID).
2. USAMR1ID was quick to point out that the issue was being worked
in detail by a consorti~tm that incl~tdes the De+ense Intelligence
~gency and that there would soon be recommendations available +rom
that consortium. The data that +ollows is but a portion 0+ the
i n+ ormati on being considered.
Certain assumptions were made in the calculations.
a. Storage 0+ ~nthrax is in +our bunkers.
c. The numbtereo+ spores+ in each can times the numLer 0+ can _

d. The lethal dose 507. (LD5O) +or humans is 8000.
5. Recommendations +rom US~MRIID include the +01 lowing:
