THAT COUNSELED PATIENCE BUT BROKE NO NEW GROUND.

AND AZ ZUBAYR HAVE NO ELECTRICITY AND LITTLE POTABLE WATER.

ACCORDING TO PRESS          . MAJOR SOURCES OF WATER

FOR MANY IRAQIS ARE NOW THE POLLUTED TIGRIS RIVER, MILITARY TANKERS.

AND RAINWATER DAMAGE TO THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES HAS

PREVENTED IRAQI TELEVISION BROADCASTS, INTERRUPTED RADIOBROADCASTS,

AND PUT MOST TELEPHONES IN THE CAPITAL OUT OF SERVICE, ACCORDING TO

PRESS REPORTS.
